Crunch fears cause small business owners to work from home
Increasing numbers of small business owners are giving up their offices and working from home because of fears about the economy. That's according to researchers at mobile phone firm O2, who found that 62% of firms questioned worked from home as a means of reducing costs. Economy jitters, talk of recession and the credit crunch also meant small firms were reluctant to sign contracts on fixed-term lease deals, according to the report. O2 also claims that flexible working and advances in mobile technology have also been key factors in firms' decisions to make the move from office to home.
